Jonah Matranga aka Onelinedrawing is essentially unique. His music is somewhere in between Nick Drake, Cheap Trick and Sinead O’Connor… but not really. Over the last 15 years, he’s fronted rock bands (Far, Gratitude, New End Original) and made more solo-ish albums as Onelinedrawing and simply under his name. He’s made records with budgets ranging from $300 to $300,000. He’s played as many house shows as he has huge festivals, and he brings the same thing regardless of where he’s playing — ambitious songwriting, wit, honesty and an interest in making something unique every time. His new album is yet another example of this.

Cancer Bats Pentagram Tour

On April 21st 2012, Canadian scuzz-punks Cancer Bats played six shows (at five different venues in London) all in one day. Starting at 11:30am, the band played their first show to a packed out Old Blue Last crowd. From then on things just got crazier. This herculean task was to promote their new record ‘Dead Set on Living’, and Noisey were with them all day to film the whole thing – resulting in a serious bangover the next day.

“After being a band for three years, and following a lot of thinking, we have decided to lay this to rest. Life caught up with us. I imagine you’ll hear from us in other projects in the future but for Kerouac, we’ve taken it as far as we can. We’re just four best friends that started jamming in a bedroom and never expected to do as much as you’ve allowed us to.

We’re doing one last show at The Old Blue Last, London on Saturday 7th July, it’s Free. The line up will be made up of best friends and we’ll be giving these songs the best send off possible. We’ll let you know how you can attend in due time.

Tangled Talk and Holy Roar will be releasing a Discography 12″ this summer, we’re putting together artwork right now but we assure you it will be special.

Thankyou for everything, it’s meant the world.”

A punk band that uses acoustic guitar and indie-rock dance grooves. It’s hook-filled… it’s anthemic… it’s confessional – yet you can’t quite totally put your finger on it. It seems a lot of people are having a hard time describing The Front Bottoms. We say you be the judge here on May 14th.
